Laksa Sarawak

Kolo mee


Kolo mee is synonymous with Sarawak. In fact, it is one of the signature dishes of this east Malaysian state. Mee kolo is a noodles serve with beef stock, beef, chille paste and sprouts(optional). Be it white or red kolo mee, a bowl of delicious noodles is sure to send you home happy. As you go to Sarawak,people will suggests you to try kolo mee. Kolo mee is very common in Sarawak and you will find it everywhere.

Umai


Umai is a traditional native dish that made from raw fish but it does not eaten raw so no worries.The fish were cleaned and mixed with special ingredients such as chilli,onion,ginger and lime or lemon.It's so juicy that you will craving for after you going back to your home town. 


Ayam pansoh


For people who are not from Sarawak,you will find it is bit weird to put something in the bamboo.But that's the creativity of Sarawakian.Chicken or people here called it manok pansoh, well known Iban speciality, cooked in bamboo mixed with some ingredients such as garlic,onion,and some chilli. No need to add some salt because it is delicious enough.The taste will come from the chicken itself. 


Ikan terubok masin

Salted Terubok fish, a unique local speciality, often serve with chillies and musk lime. Serve with rice and its finger licking!

Midin


Midin is a green jungle fern that grows in Sarawak. Unlike other greens that get soft when cooked, midin remains crunchy giving it an enjoyable texture. The thin, curly shoots are a delicious and healthy alternative to noodles and rice. Midin is often stir-fried with garlic, ginger, or optionally shrimp paste and chili.

Bubur Pedas Sarawak


One of the most popular dishes for the breaking of the fast in Sarawak has to be bubur pedas, which is only available during Ramadan. Curry-like in colour and with a thick consistency, this congee is normally packed with vegetables and meat.   It is called bubur pedas because of the addition of spices known as bumbu. The main ingredients of bumbu are garlic, ginger, shallots, onions, dried chilli, turmeric, lemon grass, galangal and grated coconut. All the ingredients need to be dried under the sun for half day and then mixed together with rice, which will be fried without cooking oil to extract the aroma.


Kompia

Fried Kompia which is the chinese version of Bagels! There's meat or vegetables inside...Finger licking!
